In a nutshell, b2evolution is a classy news and weblog tool that runs on almost any Web hosting service that supports PHP & MySQL. It features an integrated XHTML validator, supports recursive subcategories, cross posting and has an integrated skinning system.

  Type something in the web interface, hit "Blog this!" and it's on your site! No rebuilding necessary. You can also blog by sending an e-mail, by sending an MMS or by using a client tool such as w.bloggar.
• Blog skins.
  Provide different presentations for your blog, change the look & feel... Don't throw away your layout when you redesign your site: provide your readers with a selection switch!
• AntiSpam Deluxe.
  Get rid of referrer and comment spam thanks to a community maintained spam database.
• Localized in several languages.
  Already available: Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Czech , Dutch , Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Lithuanian, Norwegian Bokmål, Spanish, Swedish. And it's really easy to translate to your own language too.
• Multiple blogs.
  If you want 2, 3 or 100 different blogs/newsfeeds on your site, no need to install the software several times. You can display each blog on its own page, or even display several blogs on the same page. For example, as a sidebar to a main blog, you could display a sub-blog to act as a photblog, a moblog, a linkblog or a blogroll.
• Multiple users and authors.
  Each blog has its own set of member users. You decide who gets to write on a particular blog. And you can even restrict read access on particular posts. Full user management included!
• Advanced categorization
  Each blog can be sub-divised into categories and sub-categories to organize your posts/news items by subject or theme. Each post can be assigned multiple categories.
• Web standards compliance.
  There's even an integrated XHTML checker to help you post valid content.
